Terms & Conditions

Version 1.5 · Effective 3 September 2026 · Supersedes version 1.4 (April 2026) · Reconciled against Pladio 1.5.0

1. What these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the Pladio apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch and CarPlay; this website at pladio.app and its subdomains; and the radio-station catalogue served from api.pladio.app. Pladio is operated by Patrick Diezi, trading as KREANIQS, in Switzerland.

By downloading the app or using this site, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use Pladio.

My Privacy Policy forms part of these terms. Use of the app through the App Store is additionally subject to Apple's own terms; Apple is not a party to this agreement.

2. No account needed

Pladio requires no registration and has no accounts. If that ever changes, these terms will change with it and you will be told.

You must be at least 16 to agree to these terms. Pladio's 4+ App Store rating describes the suitability of its content, which is a different question from the age at which someone can enter into an agreement; both stand.

3. Licence

You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Pladio on devices you own or control, for personal and non-commercial purposes.

You may not redistribute, sell, rent, lease or sublicense the app; reverse engineer or attempt to derive its source; remove copyright or trademark notices; use automated tools against my infrastructure; or work around the rate limits on the station catalogue.

4. Acceptable use

Use Pladio lawfully. Do not use it to infringe anyone's rights, to transmit harmful code, to gain unauthorised access to systems, or to place excessive automated load on the station catalogue. I may rate-limit or block access to api.pladio.app, and suspend access, where any of that occurs.

5. Radio content is not mine

Pladio plays third-party radio streams. I do not operate, control or endorse the stations or what they broadcast, and I cannot guarantee that any stream stays available or accurate. Stations are responsible for their own copyright compliance. Some stations carry advertising in their broadcasts; that is theirs, not mine, and it is outside my control.

If you add your own stations, you are responsible for having the right to stream the URLs you add.

6. Free and Premium

Core radio listening is free and will remain free. That includes streaming, browsing and search, favourites and recently played, your own manually added stations with no limit on how many, iCloud sync, CarPlay, every widget, Siri Shortcuts, Spotlight and Focus Filters, the sleep timer, and song recognition.

Premium unlocks exactly six things: the Apple TV app, the Apple Watch app, the audio equalizer, in-app volume control, sleep-timer presets, and the station alarm. Premium is sold monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

Subscribers receive new Premium features added in later versions at no extra cost. I may add, change or withdraw features.

7. Payment

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment details are handled by Apple and never reach me; I receive only an anonymised entitlement status. Prices are shown in your local currency and vary by App Store region.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and are cancelled through your Apple account settings rather than through me. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Refunds are Apple's decision under Apple's policy, not mine. For billing questions, write to support@pladio.app.

If I change Premium pricing, existing subscribers get 30 days' notice and the new price applies at their next renewal.

8. Intellectual property

The Pladio apps, this website, the design, the name and the logo are mine. The station catalogue is assembled and curated by me, and includes data from the Radio-Browser project made available under the Open Database License.

Your favourites, preferences and the stations you add remain yours. If you send me feedback or suggestions, I may act on them and build them without owing you compensation or attribution.

Third-party components in the app are listed, with their licences, in Settings → Attributions.

9. No warranty

Pladio is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. I do not guarantee that it will always be available, that every stream will play, that third-party services will keep working, or that the station catalogue will be uninterrupted or complete. Radio streaming depends on the stations, on your connection and on infrastructure I do not run.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Pladio — including lost data, lost profits, or the failure of any third-party service. My total liability is limited to what you have paid me in the twelve months before a claim, or CHF 50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not permit these exclusions. Where that is so, my liability is limited to the maximum the law permits, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription through Apple. I may suspend access if these terms are breached, or if I discontinue Pladio. Active subscriptions run to the end of their period. Your data stays in your iCloud until you remove it.

12. Changes to these terms

I may change these terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice, given in the app or on this site; minor ones take effect when the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Pladio after that constitutes acceptance.

13. Law and disputes

Swiss law governs these terms, and the courts of Frauenfeld, Switzerland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, nothing here removes your statutory rights or your ability to bring a claim where you live. Before anything formal, please write to support@pladio.app — most things are settled that way.

14. Apple

This agreement is between you and me, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Pladio and is not responsible for it, though Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary. For App Store issues, contact Apple.

The licence for the app itself is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, as stated on Pladio's App Store listing.

14a. Copyright notices

If you believe something in Pladio infringes your copyright, write to privacy@pladio.app with enough detail to identify the work and the material in question, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. I will respond and, where warranted, remove the material. The same address takes counter-notices.
