You decide when it listens
Most stations say what they are playing, and Pladio matches that against Apple Music for the artist, title and cover art. When a station sends nothing useful, a button on the player offers to listen instead — a few seconds of audio, and it names the track. It only ever listens when you ask it to.
One tap to your library
Once a track is identified, that same button adds it to your Apple Music library, and shows a checkmark once it is there. If a station's metadata is wrong or stuck, you can identify again from the audio: press and hold on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch, or right-click on the Mac. Not in CarPlay — a second gesture at the wheel is one thing too many.
40,000+ stations
Browse by country, genre or what is playing near you. Search everything at once, or narrow to one field — name, country, location, genre, labels, codec, bitrate or credits — with comparisons like >=128 kbps.
Add your own
Paste a stream URL and Pladio works out the format and bitrate for itself. Add as many as you like — there is no cap, on any tier. Submit them for review and they can join the shared catalogue.
Everything syncs
Favourites, recently played, your own stations, sort order, display preferences, sleep timers and alarms follow you across your devices through iCloud. Start on the iPhone, carry on at the Mac.
Sound
MP3, AAC, HE-AAC, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, Opus and Ogg Vorbis — all free. Premium adds the equalizer: five bands, settings remembered per station, and loudness normalisation to even out the jump between stations. One panel, one unlock.
Wake up and fall asleep to it
The sleep timer is free — 20, 40 or 60 minutes, fading out rather than cutting off. Premium adds your own saved presets, and a station alarm that wakes you with a gradual fade-in even while the device is locked.
In your language
24 languages across 27 locales, switchable inside the app without changing your device language. Station countries are shown translated, not as two-letter codes. Fully accessible with VoiceOver.

iPhone & iPad
Lock Screen and Control Center playback. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets — free for everyone — that start a station even when Pladio is not running. Siri Shortcuts, Spotlight and Focus Filters throughout.
Mac
A real Mac app, written in SwiftUI rather than carried over from iPad. A menu bar mini player with full and compact modes, and Start at Login if you want it there from the moment you sit down.
CarPlay
Native templates with large targets. Your favourites, recents and sort order arrive from the iPhone without setting anything up.
Apple TV & Apple Watch
A living-room app with a Top Shelf extension, and a wrist remote with complications and Digital Crown volume. Both are part of Premium.

Most of it is free. Six things are not.
Streaming, browsing, search, favourites, your own stations, every widget, CarPlay, iCloud sync, song recognition and the sleep timer are all free, with no cap and no trial clock.
Premium unlocks six: the Apple TV app, the Apple Watch app, the equalizer — five bands, per-station memory and loudness normalisation, one panel — in-app volume control, saved sleep-timer presets (the timer itself is free), and the station alarm.

Prices shown are for the Swiss App Store in Swiss francs. App Store prices vary by region — open Pladio on your device, or the App Store listing, to see the price where you are. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
Pladio also has a tip jar for anyone who would rather just support the work; it unlocks nothing and is entirely optional.
You are not the product.
Pladio has no advertising, no user accounts, and no cross-app tracking. It never asks for permission to track you, because it has nothing to track you with — there is no advertising identifier and no tracking prompt anywhere in the app.
- No ads inside the app, at any tier.
- No sign-up. Your favourites live in your own iCloud, not on a server of mine.
- Anonymous product analytics can be switched off in Settings → Privacy, and switching them off stops every one of Pladio's own events. It does not stop the services you use from being contacted — identifying a song still sends audio to the recognition service — and what those companies log at their end is theirs, not mine. The Privacy Policy says which is which.
- Location is optional and used only to find stations near you.

Questions
Before you ask.
Do I need an account?
No. Pladio has no sign-up and no login. Your favourites and your own stations sync through your own iCloud account, which means I never see them.
How does song recognition work?
Most stations broadcast the artist and title, and Pladio reads that and matches it against Apple Music. When a station sends nothing usable, you can tap the button on the player and Pladio listens to a few seconds of the stream to identify the track. It is free, and it never runs on its own — earlier versions did that automatically, and it turned out to fire when nobody wanted it and stay quiet when they did.
Is there a limit on my own stations?
No. Add as many as you like, on the free tier as well.
Which languages does it speak?
24 languages across 27 locales, switchable inside the app without changing your device language.
Is there an Android version?
No, and none is planned. Pladio is built natively for Apple platforms.
A station is missing, or its stream is broken.
There are boards for exactly that — Radio Station Request and Radio Station Issue — and they are the fastest route, because they go straight into the same list I work from.
